Hi, I’m Elena.

Hi, I’m Elena

I write stories.

I also run LOCPress, which is where I publish them.

That includes short stories, serialized fiction, poetry, experiments, and anything else that needs somewhere to live. Some of it is edited by professionals. Most of it is not.

LOCPress isn’t a traditional publishing company, and I’m not trying to make it behave like one. It’s an independent home for my work – a place where I can share stories in the forms that suit them, on timelines that make sense for me.

Some stories may arrive one chapter at a time. Some may be complete when they appear. Others may be short, strange, quiet, unfinished around the edges, or difficult to categorize.

They are still worth sharing.

A lot of what I write explores systems, identity, and choice: the structures people live within, the roles they’re given, and what happens when they decide to become someone else. Some of these stories contain violence, trauma, coercion, addiction, or other heavy subjects. When they do, I’ll provide content information so you can decide what, when, and how you want to read.

The LOCPress blog will be a little different from the fiction itself. This is where I’ll talk about how I write, organize sprawling notes, develop fictional worlds, workshop ideas, and turn an extremely messy idea draft into something another person can actually read.

I’ll also talk about the writing advice I don’t follow.

I don’t write every day. I don’t aim for a predetermined word count. I don’t believe there is only one correct way to write, publish, or share a story. I’m building a process – and a place for my work – that fits what I want writing to be.

This is the first post because the blog needed somewhere to begin.

So: hi. I’m Elena. I write stories. 100% written by a human, not LLM or AI.

Welcome to LOCPress.
