About LOCPress
LOCPress is an independent home for fiction, poetry, and other forms of storytelling.
It is where I publish short stories, serialized fiction, creative experiments, and longer works that may not fit neatly into a single format or genre. Some pieces are edited by professionals. Most are not. Each one is shared because I believe it deserves somewhere to live.
LOCPress is not a traditional publishing company, and it is not trying to become one. It gives me the freedom to let each story take the form, length, and release schedule that suits it—whether that means publishing a complete piece all at once, releasing a novel chapter by chapter, or sharing something small that exists simply because I wanted to write it.
The stories published here often explore systems, identity, and choice: the structures people inherit, the roles placed upon them, and what happens when someone chooses to resist, leave, survive, or become something new.
Some of these stories contain violence, trauma, coercion, addiction, and other heavy subjects. Content information is provided whenever it may help readers make informed decisions. You are invited to choose what you read, when you read it, and how much you want to know before beginning.
About Elena
Hi, I’m Elena.
I write stories, and I run LOCPress.
I have never believed there is only one correct way to write or share a story. I do not write every day. I do not aim for a predetermined word count. My earliest drafts contain unfinished thoughts, missing punctuation, contradictions, timeline problems, and notes to myself about things I have not figured out yet.
I call those idea drafts. Their purpose is not to be polished. Their purpose is to help me discover the story.
My writing process includes extensive character profiles, story bibles, timelines, research, workshopping, and an ever-growing collection of notes. It also includes taking breaks, writing scenes out of order, exploring possibilities that may never become canon, and allowing ideas to change while I learn what they want to become.
Writing practice happens outside fiction, too. I write reviews. I submit compliments when an employee makes an experience better. I pay attention to how people communicate, what makes an action meaningful, and how specific details can help another person understand why something mattered.
This blog is where I share that process – the tools I use, the ways I organize fictional worlds, how I workshop ideas, and the pieces of conventional writing advice I have chosen not to follow.
I am not here to prescribe one correct creative process. I am documenting the one I am building for myself.
What You’ll Find Here

- Serialized fiction published one chapter at a time
- Short stories and standalone pieces
- Poetry and creative experiments
- Updates from works in development
- Notes about drafting, revision, research, and worldbuilding

Some work will be carefully polished. Some will remain a little rough around the edges. All of it belongs to a creative life in progress. All stories are written by a human, not an AI/LLM.
